As Senior Membership Manager and, later, as Content Integration Officer at IRA, I developed a substantial amount of content for IRA’s digital properties including the IRA website, www.reading.org (now www.literacyworldwide.org) including product pages for books, webinars about the Common Core State Standards, and various promotional microsites. (Please see the Digital Membership and Marketing pages for samples of the promotional microsites.) I also initiated and worked with a cross-functional team to develop the Members Only area of the IRA website. Please click on the image or link below to learn more about the Members Only area.

Members Only

I created the Members Only area of the website when I worked as Senior Membership Manager at IRA. At that time, IRA had experienced a significant drop in member retention and new member acquisition because of the Recession. I was asked to build and lead a new membership division, which managed membership acquisition, retention, and engagement.

I recognized that the basic IRA membership didn’t really offer anything more than discounts to other IRA products. Other than acquiring an affiliation with a prestigious education organization, the basic membership provided little value. So, I decided to change that by providing free professional development resources in an exclusive Members Only area of the IRA website as part of the basic membership.

Please go to the Members Only and Members Only Columns pages to learn more about the content and features of this web area.

Authors’ Corner

As the publications marketing manager, I initiated and collaborated with the books division on a project to create an Authors’ Corner area for the IRA website that would promote books and authors. Videos were created for Authors Corner with featured authors providing thought leadership on a literacy topic in their area of expertise. Please go to the Literacy Experts Video page to see sample videos that were created for Authors’ Corner.

*(Please Note: this area is not on the ILA website, so I am sharing prototype screenshot that I had from the development.)
