Print Marketing for IRA Professional Development Resources
IRA’s main sources of revenue, aside from membership, were the professional development products we developed for classroom teachers and literacy professionals. This included publications (professional development books and journals) and events (an annual IRA Convention, a biennial World Congress, and regional conferences).
All publications marketing was done in house, as was marketing for regional conferences. For the last two years, I was at IRA, the annual Convention and World Congress were done in conjunction with an outside agency. For direct mail pieces and advertising for publications and events, I developed campaigns, wrote the copy, and worked with designers and our production manager for direct mail campaigns. For print advertising, I managed creative and production in collaboration with outside designers.
