Media Coverage
While at Holy Child School, I managed media relations, and crisis communications including writing press releases, pitching the School’s thought leaders to the press for feature article placement, providing press releases and photos for student stories and faculty achievements, and arranging press coverage of community and fundraising events. Below are a few examples of media coverage.

Tom Lengel Sunday Commentary Feature in the Philadelphia Inquirer
A columnist wrote a feature in the Inquirer with the opinion that elementary school children should not have homework. This was a topic our Head of School, Tom Lengel, felt very strongly about. In his opinion, moderate, age-appropriate homework in elementary school was valuable to a student’s education. I contacted the education editor at the paper and pitched the idea of Tom offering a counterpoint opinion piece to the original article. The editor liked my pitch and the proposed article, and Tom’s counterpoint opinion piece was published in the Sunday education section. It was also published on the Inquirer section of philly.com.

Community Fundraising media coverage
Every year Holy Child had a fundraising event called Holy Child Shops. I arranged media coverage from Philadelphia and suburb area society reporters.
Faculty and Student Achievements
I also regularly worked with local media to publish stories about the achievements and milestones of our students and faculty. Below is an example of a feature that was published by local papers about the celebration of the 40-anniversary of teaching at Holy Child of one of our faculty members. The teacher also happened to be a graduate of the school!

Advertising
In addition to press relations, I managed advertising for the school, including developing ads and school profiles for yearly education directories. Below are a few examples of advertising done while I was at Holy Child:
